Governing Rules
The Governing Rules set forth the Policies, Procedures and Rules by which all participating contingents as well as the Host Society will abide by in their preparation and participation for the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).
These Governing Rules have been established by the NAIG Council to maintain the integrity and ensure the professional operation of the Games.
The Governing Rules ensure the continuity of the event by outlining processes to be utilized by the NAIG Council, its committees, the Host Society, partners and participating contingents at any point during planning, implementation and wrap up of any NAIG.
Sport Technical Package
The Sport Technical Package outlines comprehensive eligibility and technical information for each sport identified in the Governing Rules. Information includes:
- Athlete eligibility by sport, age category and gender divisions
- Roster restrictions
- Coach certification standards
- Officials certification standards
- Sport rule book
- Competition formats & rules
- Equipment requirements and restrictions
The Sport Technical Package is managed by the NAIG Sport & Technical Committee and supported by individual National Sport Organizations (NSOs) and/or National Sport Governing Bodies (NSGBs), following the principles, guidelines and requirements of the NAIG Council (i.e. International Rules). As the overall governing body of the NAIG, the NAIG Council is the ultimate authority for the Sport Technical Package.
